Wanna save money, reduce food waste and become more self-sufficient?

Join the 2022 Homestead Pantry Challenge and kick off the new year by challenging yourself to eat through your pantry, avoid the grocery store and get creative with what you’ve got!

Start 2022 on the right foot…

It’s no exaggeration to say that the past couple years have tested us like never before.

The seemingly never-ending pandemic that has caused everything from job losses to supply chain issues to inflation across the board has brought financial struggles to many, shed light on the fragility of our industrialized food system and our global supply chain, set off a number of shortages around the world, and caused skyrocketing food prices that are only expected to continue rising in 2022.

Not to mention, every aspect of public life has been upended, and everyday activities like dining out and grocery shopping have become things we’d rather avoid.

But the silver lining is that it has taught us the importance of being prepared and has forced us to learn how to make do or do without.

As we head into the new year, many people are looking for ways to save a little more money, become a little more self-sufficient and avoid the grocery store and soaring food costs whenever possible, which is all the more reason to kick off 2022 with a pantry challenge!

What is the Homestead Pantry Challenge?

The third annual Homestead Pantry Challenge is a FREE online challenge that will help you save money, get organized, reduce food waste, expand your kitchen skills, test your creativity and increase your self-sufficiency by challening you to shop from your pantry for the month of January and either eat only what you have stored at home or plan your meals around the food you have on hand, supplementing with. atrip to the grocery store only when absolutely necessary.

It’s a personal challenge with flexible “rules,” so anyone can join in, even if you don’t have a homestead or a pantry full of food!

The online portion will take place via email, where I’ll send you weekly resources, tips and inspiration to help you complete the challenge and save as much money as possible, as well as on Instagram where you’re encouraged to post photos of your pantry meals throughout the month of January using the hashtag #homesteadpantrychallenge.

I’m in! What’s next?

A note from me to you…

The House & Homestead | Anna Sakawsky

Hi there!

I’m Anna, and I’m a city girl turned  modern homesteader who’s passionate about growing, cooking and preserving real food at home, creating my own herbal medicine and all-natural home and body care products, and working toward a simpler, more sustainable, more self-sufficient life each and every day. And I’m equally passionate about helping others do the same!

I’ve been challenging myself to eat from our pantry every January for a number of years now, well before I even moved out of the city or started homesteading (so I’m proof that you don’t have to be a full-on homesteader to participate;)

Then a couple years ago I hosted the first annual online Homestead Pantry Challenge and had such a great response that I knew I had to make it an annual thing! This year marks the third annual pantry challenge, and it comes at a time when we could all use a little extra help and motivation to make do with what we have on hand and flex our self-sufficiency muscles so that we’re ready for anything in 2022.

I hope you’ll join me in saving money, reducing food waste and increasing your self-sufficiency this January! Subscribe below to join in and get all the details sent to your inbox:)
