Hi there!
I’m Anna, and I’m a city girl-turned modern homesteader who’s passionate about growing, cooking and preserving real food at home, creating my own herbal medicine and all-natural home and body care products, and working toward a simpler, more sustainable, more self-sufficient life each and every day. And I’m equally passionate about helping others do the same!
I started preserving food in 2015 after moving onto a property with a large apple tree that produced hundreds of pounds of apples at once. My first project was learning to can applesauce, and from there, I was hooked. I was still weary about food safety though, and spent countless hours researching the latest food preservation safety standards and protocols.
Over the past decade, I’ve mastered water bath and pressure canning, dehydrating, fermenting, freezing, and storing foods to extend their shelf life. This winter, I added a freeze dryer to our homestead and look forward to sharing this new preservation method with others!
